The Kawartha Woodturners Guild (KWG) was founded by a group of eight hobby turners in 1995 and serves members from the Peterborough and surrounding area in Ontario, Canada.
The Guild is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of woodturning. KWG also became the 180th Chapter of the American Association of Woodturners (AAW) in 2002. Many of our members belong to the AAW. The AAW also holds an annual symposium and many regional symposiums in the US
The Guild has since grown to an annual membership of 60 plus members and provides a rewarding activity for both men, women and teens. Our membership consists of the first time novice up to the professional gallery turners from the Peterborough, Apsley, Omemee, Lindsay, Cobourg, Port Hope, Oshawa, and surrounding areas.
Our meetings normally include introductory remarks/updates followed by show and tell, a live demonstration and our draw table. It is a great opportunity to mingle with and ask questions of fellow woodturners at all levels. We also have an end of season Exhibition meeting in June.
We welcome you to come out to one of the meetings and see what we do.
